The Tithe is that tenth of our income that we give to God, which enables Him to move on our behalf in the area of blessings. The Bible records numerous accounts of man Tithing to God. God is the creator of everything that exists. He owns everything and we are simply stewards of what we have been entrusted with. The Tithe principle is this; "He gives unto us, we give back to Him one-tenth of all that He has blessed us with."
God has given mankind the exclusive right or dominion to rule over His property and world. We have not only been given the right of dominion, but we are also "free moral agents," able to make our own decisions and to determine our own actions. Therefore, man can bless God with his actions or curse God with his actions. Obedience blesses God, while disobedience is a reproach unto God . Tithing blesses, while not Tithing is obviously a reproach.
The strongest chain is only as strong as its weakest link. When we fail to Tithe, we become that weak link. Tithing releases fear and allows our minds to open to receive. Financial struggles are a result of a 'poverty' mindset, we will always struggle as long as we have this mindset. Tithing gives the mind the chance to enter the 'abundance' mindset. When one knows, beyond a shadow of doubt, that there is enough for everyone in this world, financial struggles will be overcome.
Give to receive.
When we Tithe, we should Tithe with joy and we should EXPECT to receive. Tithing with an open heart, with happiness and complete release, results in receiving. By Tithing, we are releasing our 'clutch' on money, which releases our fear. but also creates a connection with the Universe.
Tithing should be giving to your spiritual source of inspiration. If you have one or two places that you draw your spiritual guideance from, then that is where you should Tithe. Many people believe that you should Tithe to the church, however many people do not attend a church.
The source that is your inspiration, or guidance, may take different forms. Essentially, where ever you turn for spiritual help is where your connection is. This is where you should Tithe.
So often people proclaim that they can not afford to Tithe. This thought is a result of the 'poverty' mindset, and is even more reason to Tithe.
Tithing should be 10% of your gross income. Tithing is done before taxes, before paying your bills, before spending any of your income.
Giving to mankind and to charitable causes is not the same as Tithing, but is a very noble form of giving and helps in one's spiritual growth. Giving to man is considered a secondary form of giving and should be done after Tithing to one's source of spiritual help and inspiration.
